This beauty showed up at the upholstery shop around the corner & I thought it was worth sharing. It’s a ‘67, originally a 289 but now rocking a 460 with a 5 speed. According to my buddy at the shop, it’s quite a monster but starts easy cold, which he hates because he’s a Chevy guy with a high compression 383 powered C10 running race gas that pretty much only runs at WOT. We always know it’s 3:00 on Fridays because we can hear Dave fire that up a block away.

These are one of the best looking large coupes of the Muscle Car era, IMO.
I will forever regret not buying one of those, a project car with a police pack which needed only a paint job and an interior...
Curse you, bitter memories.

I agree. That’s part of why I drive this ;)
Not a coupe and not a V8, but it’s a little slice of the style I love for much less money. I’ve cursed way too many missed car opportunities myself, so when this one came up a few months ago I jumped.

The good news is, that if you can find one - they don’t cost that much.

That’s awesome. I’ve never seen that hood before.

holy carbonater = Holley carburetor... I think?
but for the life of me, I can’t figure what ‘’ and ode houser manifold’’ is.. Offenhauser?
Also, that is the crummiest ‘’brand-new’’ engine I ever saw.

I assume Offenhauser.
And yeah what a mess that ad.
If the map actually points to his house, it’s not far from me. I’m tempted to go look just to figure out WTF is going on.

Would be worth it, if only to strike out a conversation with a fellow Ford enthusiast.
And who knows, you might end up being known as MontegoAndFairlane500Man562 !

If I came home with that it would be

That is beautiful - tastefully done. The wheels fit it great too - upsize but not huge.

yea really!
I plan on (eventually) getting one of these scoops for my Montego, mine will be black on my red hood like the first picture (I have the black vinyl top though so I think it ties in better):
